Q: How do I use one of these images as a chat avatar?

A: Open two windows side by side, this blog and a chat. Scroll through the chat to see which have already been chosen then pick one and "send" your choice (ie: 2nd from the top). It's yours until you leave. Or go with your own blog art post and give out the address in the chat room.

Cloth "Felt"

Assemble small scraps of cloth (1" x 1/4") on top of a thin, strong, flexible piece of material (interfacing or what would be used as a pocket). Baste scraps into place; iron flat; then cover with a transparent mesh (I used a stocking which isn't really durable enough). Use for elbow patches or a strip behind buttons or button holes.
